Healing Juice

Healing Juice

Throughout the ages, herbalists and other health practitioners have grated or ground fresh herbs and soft fruits and pressed the juice along with the healing. In modern days, Dr. Max Gerson was the first to put forth the concept that diet could be used as cancer (and other disease) therapy known as 'Gerson Diet Therapy'. But it wasn’t actively practiced by people until the 1930's, when raw food proponent Dr. Norman Walker invented the first juicing machine, the Norwalk Hydraulic Press Juicer. This breakthrough theory and juicer is still practiced and used widely all around the world.

In recent days, Juice Cleanse advocate  Anthony William spread a theory 'Medical Medium' - belief in detoxification by healing powers of foods, specially drinking 16 oz of 'Celery' to restore health.   A juice cleanse is a type of diet that involves consuming only juices from vegetables and fruits in an attempt to lose weight and detoxify the body.

Gerson Therapy

The Gerson Therapy was developed in the early 1900s by Dr. Max B. Gerson, who used it to relieve his migraine. Later, Gerson used this therapy to treat diseases like tuberculosis and cancer.  Gerson believed that cancers and other chronic diseases are caused by changes in metabolism that happen when toxic substances accumulate in your body.

The Gerson Therapy is a diet consuming approximately 15–20 pounds (7–9 kg) of organic produce per day to help “flood the body with nutrients” as Dr. Gerson believed that this type of diet helps treat diseases. But He recommended two-stage juicer that first grinds the vegetables into a pulp, then extracts the juice by squeezing it under high pressure.

Cold-Press Juicer

As Dr. Max Gerson convinced from his “A Cancer Therapy – Results of Fifty Cases”,  Two machines are required, a separate grinder and a separate press, for the correct preparation of the juice. The reason, “two machines are required”, is because with a centrifugal or masticating juicer there is no practical way to mix the pulp. With a two-stage juicer the ground up produce can be mixed in a bowl after trituration. These are findings of experiences over many years in which patients who used a one-unit machine had no success.

A hydraulic or pneumatic cold-press is also commonly referred to as two-stage juicers since there are two stages: First the produce is ground up into pulp for trituration process (reducing the size and mixing the ingredients for a smooth mixture). Secondly, the extraction of juice is done using the press and the pressing bag with high pressure to extracts the most nutrients possible from produces.

Juice Cleanse

There are many healing benefits of drinking freshly juiced fruits and vegetables, because juices retain most of of the vitamins, minerals and plant chemicals (phytonutrients) that would be found in the whole versions of those foods.

These nutrients medically proved they can help protect against cardiovascular disease, cancer and various inflammatory diseases, like rheumatoid arthritis. Valuable compounds called flavonoids and anthocyanins are abundant in a variety of fruits and vegetables and guard against oxidative cellular damage, which comes from everyday cellular maintenance and is exacerbated by exposure to chemicals and pollution.

One step ahead, juice can be use to cleanse by help reset person's gut. Juice cleanse idea is to drink only raw fruit and vegetable juice without solid foods to greatly reduce the amount of input and stress that gut experiences.
